Don’t forget about the Intact Insurance “Claims Guarantee” – When you call Intact Insurance to report a claim, they guarantee that within 30 minutes of answering your call, one of their dedicated claims representatives will start your claim. If not, they’ll write you a cheque for the full amount of your annual premium up to a maximum of $1,000.
- Be pro-active and minimize the extent of any loss.
- Do not admit liability for any accident without having discussed the claim with your broker.
- When speaking to emergency personnel obtain names, phone numbers, report numbers and dates and times.
- Note as many details as possible at the earliest opportunity while the events are fresh in your memory.
- Where practical, take photo/video evidence of the accident scene.
