Tip: Don’t forget about the Intact Insurance Claims Guarantee. When you call Intact Insurance to report a claim, they guarantee that within 30 minutes of answering your call, one of their claims representatives will start your claim. If not, they’ll write you a cheque for the full amount of your annual premium up to a maximum of $1,000.
Be proactive and minimize the extent of any loss.
Do not admit liability for any accident without having discussed the claim with your Account Executive or your insurer’s adjuster.
When speaking to emergency personnel obtain names, phone numbers, report numbers and dates and times.
Note as many details as possible at the earliest opportunity while the events are fresh in your memory.
Where practical, take photo/video evidence of the incident scene.
